With the T20 World Cup, UAE fans will be involved in the largest-scale event since the pandemic began. On Sunday, the ICC announced that all stadiums in the UAE T20 World Cup 70% Capacity in Stadium (and Oman, for a few of the first-round games) will be filled to 70% capacity throughout the upcoming men’s T20 World Cup. Which is being held from October to November.

As a result, this will be the most attended event in the UAE since the pandemic. The second half of the latest PSL event, held in the UAE in June, was not open to spectators. While the current IPL has a reduced capacity at the venues. According to ESPNcricinfo, there were also plans to let fans into matches during the IPL to prepare. The local governments, the ICC, and BCCI for the upcoming World Cup.

T20 Cup 2021 Dubai

An ICC statement said that the ICC and BCCI had worked closely with the host authorities to ensure safety and consistency at all venues, as COVID 19 protocols must be adhered to. 

Ticket sales have already begun for the Oman and UAE matches. A temporary structure at the Oman Cricket Academy will allow up to 3000 fans to attend in person. The Abu Dhabi stadium will also feature socially distanced pods, each accommodating four people.

A recent surge in Covid-19 cases in India forced the T20 World Cup to be relocated to the UAE, where the remaining IPL matches are taking place.

Oman will play Papua New Guinea in the first round of the T20 World Cup on October 17 in Muscat, and four teams will join the top-eight teams in the main competition which begins on October 23 with Australia taking on South Africa in Abu Dhabi. This year’s final will be held in Dubai on November 14.

“The ICC and BCCI’s event hosts have worked closely with local authorities to make sure fans transported in a safe manner. And COVID 19 protocols are to be applied at all venues,” an ICC statement said. Both Oman and the UAE have already begun selling tickets. Additionally, the stadium will have socially distanced pods – each holding four people. While all fans will be able to attend with the assistance of a temporary structure at the Oman Cricket Academy.

 T20 World Cup events were originally scheduled to take place in India. This year, but the U.S. moved the event to Dubai this year due to the Covid-19 outbreak that hit the country in the summer. Dubai is also the venue for the remainder of the IPL. The T20 World Cup starts on October 17 with Oman taking on Papua New Guinea in Muscat, from which four teams will join the top-eight teams in the main competition, which kicks off on October 23 in Abu Dhabi when Australia face South Africa. On November 14, the final will  held in Dubai.
